What Users Say

From our seed users in testing mode since early 2025

MathMallows is part of my child’s daily routine β€” just five questions a day! The Daily Test Calendar makes it easy to track progress, and the analytics show accuracy by difficulty level. It saves me from buying endless workbooks!

Sarah L.

Parent of Year 5 OC

My child enjoys doing a few questions daily β€” it keeps learning stress-free and consistent. Mistakes are easy to review because all of them are in one place, saving me lots of time to organize it. The detailed solutions with unlimited retests help prevent repeated errors and deepen understanding.

David C.

Parent of Year 6 OC

We tried many trial tests, but most were too easy or repetitive. MathMallows questions are just right β€” even a bit challenging β€” perfect for OC, Selective, or scholarship prep. The hard ones really stretch the top students.

Susan G.

Parent of Year 5 OC

MathMallows was my secret weapon! It helped me score in the top 10% for math in the NSW Selective Exam and receive an offer from James Ruse β€” just 30 minutes a day without any math tutoring classes. The questions match the curriculum well and help build strong math foundations. I'll keep going till it feels too easy!

Ethan P.

Year 6 OC Student

I scored highly in the ACER Scholarship Exam thanks to MathMallows. The challenging questions and clear explanations helped me learn from mistakes, and the timed practice improved both my accuracy and speed. The weekly progress reports keep me motivated and show real improvement over time.

Jessica M.

Year 6 OC Student

A fantastic resource for math competitions! Regular practice helped me excel in Math Olympiad, AMC and AMC8.
The questions aren't designed to copy OC or Selective exam papers. But by doing it every day, I build strong reasoning, speed, and accuracy β€” the exact skills needed to excel in those exams and math competitions.

faq

One afternoon, I was brainstorming names with my son, and he spotted his favorite Squishmallow nearby. He said, "How about MathMallows? Like marshmallows, but math!" And honestly… it stuck. 😊
Now, MathMallows is our soft, sweet daily brain treat!

Not at all! Our goal isn't to pile on the work β€” it's to spark curiosity.
Think of MathMallows like a bite-sized math adventure that helps kids build confidence and a daily learning habit.
If you have enough homework to do, take a rest and play some games instead!

You will get fresh new tests every Monday to Friday β€” like tasty learning snacks to kickstart your brain each day!
We are also preparing Monthly tournaments and Team tournaments. So keep an eye out πŸ‘€!

There is no time limit usually, and most kids should finish in under 15 minutes for the Explorer Club. The questions in the Challenger Club might take longer time.
If a question is too hard, skip it β€” you'll see a full explanation after you finish a test!

MathMallows works best as a complement to regular learning:

For students still building foundations:
Use your school textbook, class lessons, or tutoring as the main source of new concepts. Then visit MathMallows to test your understanding, identify gaps, and track progress.

For advanced or competition-focused students:
Jump straight into challenging questions to learn through problem-solving, explore solutions, and sharpen your skills as you go.

In both cases, MathMallows is a capability-testing and growth platform, helping you see how ready you are for exams, competitions, and next-level maths.

MathMallows is made for curious kids in Year 3 to Year 8 (roughly ages 9 – 14), a formative period in a child's academic journey. In regions like NSW, Australia, this stage aligns with a series of critical academic opportunities, including Opportunity Class (OC) placement, Selective High School exams, scholarships, and early-stage mathematics competitions. Beyond exams, these years are foundational for developing strong problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and a lifelong interest in learning. As students approach Year 9, academic focus often shifts toward subject specialization and preparation for senior secondary and tertiary entrance exams. Therefore, Years 4 to 8 represent a vital window to strengthen core concepts, nurture curiosity, and build the confidence needed for future academic success.

Like anything in life β€” the magic is in the consistency.
Doing MathMallows regularly helps kids build stronger thinking skills, better problem-solving habits, and more confidence in math. It's not about being perfect β€” it's about showing up, trying, and getting a little better each time. πŸ’ͺ✨

Nobody really knows what the next test will look like or how difficulty it will be.
We are here to help you train your brain to think fast, learn fundamental topics to solve problems, and stay calm when things get tricky.
Most of our questions are short-answer questions that asks for one word (e.g. a number, a fraction, a time, etc.), not multiple-choices questions. This is to eliminate the possibility of random guessing and provide a more accurate evaluation of true understandings.
Don't worry if the questions are sometimes easy, sometimes tough.
Every test is different β€” but your brain will be ready for all of them.

Some questions will feel tricky β€” and that's totally okay! If you're in Year 3, 4 or 5, you might find some challenger club questions quite challenging. That's the point! You're here to stretch your brain, learn new things, and grow stronger every day. The chance is, most students will find the questions harder than expected πŸ˜‚
We doesn't mimic specific exam questions β€” we strengthens the skills behind them: logic, accuracy, and creativity β€” the real foundations of success in exams and math contests.
It's normal to not understand everything at first. Just try your best, and come back to it later. Some tough questions are made for advanced students aiming for the final challenges in scholarship or math competitions β€” but everyone is welcome to give them a go!

Right now, we're all about math β€” but if kids love it, we may expand into reading, writing, programming, and more brainy fun in the future. Stay tuned!
